If you're an HR Director, you already know

Your wellbeing budget keeps growing. Engagement doesn't.

  • Your wellbeing app sits at single-digit engagement on a good month.
  • Your EAP averages 3–5% take-up across UK employers — and most staff don't even know it exists.
  • Money is the number-one source of stress at work, but no one will talk to HR about it — they're afraid it'll come up at their next review.
  • Finance is asking what the wellbeing budget actually moved, and you can't legally advise anyone on their money even if you wanted to.

We didn't build this for the people who already speak to a financial planner. We built it for the 24.6 million UK adults who've never spoken to anyone about their money — most of whom are sitting in your office, right now, quietly worrying. Source: FCA Financial Lives 2024.

15 minutes. No deck. No catch.
How it works

Five steps. Two weeks. No admin for you.

1

15-min Zoom with me

We check fit, pick a date, and I send a one-page summary you can forward to your CFO.

2

20–30 min plain-English talk on-site

The whole team welcome. No jargon. No deck of doom. Mortgages, pensions, protection, wills — the things they actually wonder about at 11pm on Sundays.

3

Optional confidential 1-2-1s

Staff book private 15-min slots with me afterwards. Whatever they want to talk about — mortgage, pension, family cover, anything.

4

Free Will for every 1-2-1 attendee

Professionally drafted by our partners. £319 RRP. Genuinely free, genuinely theirs. Mirror Wills available for couples on the same basis.

5

You get a less-stressed team — with a real point of contact

Your people walk out lighter, calmer, and with someone they trust they can ring up next time something money-related comes up. That's the whole game.

Why this works when EAPs don't

Apps can't sit in a room with your team. I can.

App-based wellbeing & EAPs

What you're already paying for
  • ×3–5% take-up. Most staff don't know it's there.
  • ×Phone-tree feel — framed as crisis kit.
  • ×Generic content. No personal context.
  • ×Nothing tangible to take home.
  • ×No human your team can call by name afterwards.

On-site session with a regulated specialist

What you'd add
  • Whole-team turnout for the 20–30 min talk — people show up because it's on company time.
  • A real human, in their building, who they've already met.
  • Tailored 1-2-1s — mortgage, pension, family protection, the actual stuff.
  • Free professionally-drafted Will (£319) for every 1-2-1 attendee.
  • A named point of contact your team can ring whenever a money question comes up.
Charles Breen — mortgage and protection specialist, Montgomery Financial
Who you'll actually be on the call with

Charles Breen — mortgage & protection specialist

I run Montgomery Financial. I've spent the last decade helping UK families and employees get on top of mortgages, pensions and family protection — the stuff most people quietly worry about and never get round to.

I've been featured in the Financial Times, The Telegraph, Daily Express and The Standard. Regulated — FCA No. 972626. I run these sessions across the M1/A14 corridor — Northants, Beds, Bucks, Cambs, Oxon and Leics. There's no call-centre. You get me.

Let's be straight with each other

What's the catch?

Fair question. Here it is, no spin: I'm a regulated mortgage and protection specialist. I earn money helping people with mortgages and family cover. That's it.

Some of the people I meet in your 1-2-1 sessions later ask me to help them with their own mortgage or family protection. If they do, that's how the programme pays for itself. If they don't, you've still given your team something they'll genuinely use, and they leave with a Will worth £319.

Either way: the talk is free, the Will is free, and nothing private from a 1-2-1 ever comes back to you. No invoice, no PO, no contract, no headcount on your finance system.

Fifteen minutes. No deck, no proposal, no pressure. We see if it's a fit, and if it is, I can have a session on your floor inside two weeks.

Frequently asked

The questions HR Directors always ask first

Is it really free?

Yes. The session, the Wills, the whole programme. No PO, no invoice, no contract. The model relies on a small number of employees later asking me to help with their own mortgage or family protection — that's how I earn. No obligation on anyone, ever.

What does HR have to do?

Almost nothing. Pick a date, give me a room and 30 minutes of your team's time, and forward one comms email I write for you. We handle the 1-2-1 sign-up booking. Zero admin on your side.

Will HR see what staff discussed in the 1-2-1s?

No. The 1-2-1s are private. Personal financial details stay between me and the employee. What you get is a less-stressed team and a named adviser they can pick up the phone to. Confidentiality is the whole reason this works.

Are you regulated? What about GDPR?

Yes — Montgomery Financial is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 972626). GDPR-compliant, ICO registered. The 1-2-1s are covered by the same data and confidentiality standards as any regulated client meeting.

How big does my team need to be?

Sweet spot is 50–1,000 staff. Outside that range, drop me a line and I'll be straight about whether we're the right fit. No-one wants their time wasted.

Do we have to be in the Midlands?

I run on-site sessions primarily across the M1/A14 corridor — Northants, Beds, Bucks, Cambs, Oxon, Leics. Outside that area, we can do virtual or hybrid — ring me and we'll figure it out.

How fast can it actually run?

Under two weeks from the 15-min Zoom to a session live on your floor. We handle the comms pack, the 1-2-1 booking system and all the logistics. You open the door, your team turns up.

Will my Finance Director sign this off?

Almost certainly — there's no PO, no headcount, no spend. If they want a one-pager I can send one straight after our call. Most CFOs warm up faster when they realise the wellbeing budget didn't move at all.

What's the talk actually about?

Plain-English answers to the money questions most employees never get round to asking: how to make the workplace pension work harder, what protection actually does (and doesn't), the basics of a mortgage, why everyone needs a Will. No selling, no jargon, no fear.

15 minutes that could change your wellbeing numbers.

Book a Zoom. I'll explain the format, you ask the awkward questions, we see if it fits. If it doesn't, you've lost 15 minutes — and you'll know more about the financial wellbeing problem than 95% of HR teams.
